GLOBALLY INFORMED WAYS OF MAKING, TEACHING AND THINKING ABOUT SHAKESPEARE

The Decentred Shakespeares Network is a global collective of artists and academics from Brazil, Ghana, India, Malaysia, Scotland and South Africa, who work to reinterpret and engage with Shakespeare’s plays from non-Eurocentric perspectives.
The network reimagines Shakespeare’s texts with a unique digital approach which creates performances through local cultural lenses, challenging traditional, Western-centric interpretations and fostering a more diverse, decentered and collaborative approach to Shakespearean study and practice.
